Where Does Nomad Sculpt Store Projects?

Nomad Sculpt keeps .nom projects in a projects folder inside the Nomad folder, visible in Files on iOS and restricted on Android.

Last updated

Nomad Sculpt projects (.nom) sit in a projects subfolder inside the main Nomad folder. Settings, bindings, and materials sit beside it as JSON files. Copy the projects folder to move work. Copy the JSON files too if you want brushes and shortcuts carried over.

Access differs by OS. iOS exposes Nomad in Files. Android 10 and 11 lock the raw Android data path, so use the in app browser or connect over USB with a file manager that can read app storage. Exports like OBJ, glTF, and STL go where you share them.

Where Nomad Sculpt stores this, by platform

iOS
Files > On My iPad > Nomad > projects

Open Files to copy .nom files to iCloud or a PC. Autosave writes beside manual saves when enabled. Loading the autosave replaces the last manual save on next open.

Android
Android/data/com.stephaneginier.nomad/files/projects

Exact path may vary by version and file manager access. Recent Android blocks direct browsing, so export .nom files through the app or copy the whole Nomad folder over USB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I transfer Nomad Sculpt projects from iPad to PC?

Copy the projects folder from Files to iCloud, AirDrop, or USB. The .nom files open in desktop Nomad builds. Bring settings.json and bindings.json too if you want the same setup.

Does Nomad Sculpt autosave my sculpt?

Only if you turn it on in Files and Auto Save and set a timer. It prompts rather than saving silently because large sculpts hitch during writes. Manual Save stays the dependable habit.
