Where Does OldRoll Save Photos?
OldRoll saves finished vintage photos to the camera roll while undeveloped shots stay in the app.
Last updated
OldRoll mimics film cameras, and undeveloped shots live only inside the app until you develop them. Developing writes the finished photo to the camera roll as a normal image.
That two-stage flow is the whole backup story. The camera roll holds everything that matters; the app holds everything pending. Clear the app without developing and the roll stays empty, exactly like throwing away undeveloped film.
Where OldRoll stores this, by platform
Gallery / DCIM (developed photos)
Developed photos save here as regular images. Undeveloped shots stay in-app, so develop keepers before deleting or reinstalling.
Photos app (developed photos)
Same film logic: develop to Photos or lose the shot. Filter packs restore through the store account; photos never do.
Frequently asked questions
How do I keep photos when switching phones?
The developed photo in the camera roll is the keeper. Undeveloped shots and drafts die with the app, so develop the ones you like before clearing space.
