Where Does RaceRoom Store Car Setups and Profiles?
RaceRoom keeps car setups per track under Documents, with controller profiles beside them in UserData.
Last updated
RaceRoom stores car setups in Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\CarSetups, one subfolder per track. Wheel and controller assignments live beside them in UserData, so a single copy of that folder preserves both your driving and your setups.
Downloaded setups only work when filed correctly. The game matches setup files to the exact car and track layout, and a file sitting in the wrong subfolder silently never appears. Save one setup in-game first and copy its folder structure for imports.
Where RaceRoom stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\CarSetups
CarSetups holds one subfolder per track with .svm files. Controller profiles sit in UserData beside it. Copy UserData whole to move everything. Exclude SimBin from OneDrive.
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/211500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/SimBin/RaceRoom Racing Experience/UserData/CarSetups
Same Documents-relative layout inside the Proton prefix. ProtonDB rates the game Gold, and the UserData tree mirrors Windows exactly.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install a downloaded RaceRoom car setup?
Drop the .svm file into CarSetups under the right track subfolder, and only for the matching car and track layout. The game only lists setups whose folder matches the session you are in.
My wheel settings reset every launch. Why?
OneDrive redirecting Documents is the classic cause. The game writes constantly during sessions, and a mid-write sync corrupts the profile. Exclude the SimBin folder from OneDrive.
