Where Does Reflect Store Notes and Offline Cache?

Reflect syncs notes through its cloud, with apps caching recent content locally for offline work.

Last updated

Reflect keeps the master copy of notes on its servers with end to end encryption. Apps on Mac and iOS cache recent notes for offline editing and sync when back online. The cache is a convenience, not an archive.

Export matters more than file hunting. Use Reflect publishing or export options for notes you cannot lose. Wiping app storage just triggers a fresh sync of whatever the account holds.

Where Reflect stores this, by platform

macOS
In-app cache (account synced notes)

Offline copies of recent notes. Exact container path varies by release, so export instead of copying. Reinstalls resync from the account.

iOS
In-app cache (account synced notes)

Same sync model as desktop. Offloading the app can clear cached notes while the cloud copy stays. Check sync status before wiping.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Reflect notes?

Export or publish important notes from inside Reflect on a schedule. There is no local vault file to copy. Test restores by opening exports on another device.

Does deleting Reflect remove my notes?

Only the local cache goes. Cloud notes return on next login. Confirm sync finished first, or recent offline edits may never have uploaded.
