Where Does Terramaster TOS Store Shared Folders?
Terramaster TOS exposes shared folders under /mnt/md0 (for example /mnt/md0/public), with Btrfs snapshots browsable in the #snapshot folder of each share.
Last updated
Terramaster presents storage as shared folders, but on disk they sit under /mnt/md0 with one folder per share. The public share from a default setup is /mnt/md0/public. Admins create and manage these in the TOS control panel, and the panel writes the SMB and permission config behind the scenes.
Snapshots are Btrfs based and per share. When visible snapshot files are enabled, each share grows an @snapshot style folder you can browse for older versions. Restores and clones run from the Snapshot app rather than by copying files by hand.
Where Terramaster TOS stores this, by platform
/mnt/md0
One folder per shared share, created in the TOS control panel. Reach them through File Management or SMB in normal use. Direct SSH paths need an admin account since shares belong to root.
Frequently asked questions
How do I take a snapshot of a shared folder?
Open TOS Backup, Snapshot, pick the shared folder, and take one manually, or set a schedule with retention. Snapshots only work on Btrfs volumes. Enable Allow Snapshot Files to Be Visible to browse versions in the @snapshot folder from File Management.
Why is permission denied on /mnt/md0?
You cannot reach it over plain SSH as a normal user since only admins get shell access and shares belong to root. Use TOS File Management, SMB, or an admin SSH session. The getfacl command on /mnt/md0/share shows the raw permissions when access looks wrong.
