Where Does Untappd Store Checkins and Badges?
Where the Untappd app keeps checkins and badges on Android and iPhone, and what the account holds. See the folder table below.
Last updated
Untappd is beer log cloud with phone checkins. Your account holds beers, badges, and friends. The phone caches venues, menus, and photos.
Same login means same pub history. Exact cache names vary with Insider versus free builds. Keep location on for nearby taps. If checkins thin, check the username first. A second trial account with a similar handle is the classic empty history cause with social drink apps. Check the in app storage readout when sizes look wrong on different releases. When in doubt, verify paths inside the app before trusting a remembered folder.
Where Untappd stores this, by platform
/sdcard/Android/data/com.untappdllc.app
Checkins follow your Untappd login. Phone holds venue cache plus drafts. Badges live in cloud profile. Match the username exactly.
On My iPhone/Untappd
Beers live in the Untappd container plus cloud. Sign in to restore badges. Phone reinstall never touches cloud checkins or friend lists.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Untappd checkins to a new phone?
Sign in on the new phone and checkins return from the account. Phone holds login and venue cache only. Badges read from cloud profile. Check the username before wiping, since a second email shows empty and hides supporter stats.
Do Untappd checkins survive reinstalls?
Yes, in the cloud profile once posted. The phone holds a working copy plus draft checkins. Drafts pending upload stay local until signal returns. Export data from settings for records, since the phone never holds the master log alone.
