Where Does Viber Save Chat Files?
Where Viber keeps its message database on Windows and Mac, which folders hold received photos and files, and what is safe to delete.

Viber splits its data in two places. The message database sits in a folder named after your phone number under the app data directory, while received photos, videos and documents go to a separate downloads folder that the app displays in its own settings.
Windows keeps the database at AppData\Roaming\ViberPC, and AppData\Local\Viber only holds the installed program. On a Mac the same ViberPC folder lives under ~/Library/Application Support.
Treat the database folder as read-only history. The media and thumbnail folders are where you reclaim space, and Viber rebuilds what it can the next time you open a chat.

config.db sits at the root, and each phone-number folder inside holds viber.db (messages, calls, contacts), data.db, plus Avatars, Backgrounds and Thumbnails. Received media has gone to Documents\ViberDownloads in the versions people document, but your build shows its real folders under Settings > Media, and that is the thing to trust. Viber deletes media you never opened after 14 days, and deactivating or uninstalling removes the media folder while leaving documents alone.

Same layout as Windows: a config.db at the root and one folder per phone number containing viber.db. Reach it with Finder, Go, Go to Folder (Cmd+Shift+G). No default path for received media is documented for Mac, so read it from Settings > Media, where Viber also lets you move it.
