Where Does VSDC Video Editor Save Projects?

VSDC saves projects as .vproj files defaulting to Documents\FlashIntegro\VideoEditor, with .vproj.bak autosaves beside them for crash recovery.

Last updated

VSDC projects are .vproj files with one predictable default home: the FlashIntegro VideoEditor folder inside Documents. Plain Save goes there unless you picked elsewhere with Save As. The file holds your edit decisions while media stays where it was.

The .bak sibling is the recovery story. VSDC keeps a .vproj.bak copy that becomes your rescue file after a crash or a corrupted save. Exports are separate finished videos and never substitute for the project file when you need to keep editing.

Where VSDC Video Editor stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\FlashIntegro\VideoEditor

Default for .vproj projects and .vproj.bak autosaves. Change the default in settings project path. Keep media files alongside since projects link rather than embed.

Frequently asked questions

VSDC crashed, how do I recover my project?

Look next to the project for a .vproj.bak file with the same name, rename the copy to .vproj, and open it. The bak file is the autosave twin VSDC keeps. Enable autosave in settings so one always exists next time.

How do I change the default project folder?

Open settings and change the project path, which controls where plain Save lands. Save As always asks anyway. Keep source media with the .vproj since the file references clips by location rather than embedding them.
