Where Is the Yofi Config File?

Yofi Wayland launcher TOML config, blacklist and usage caches.

Last updated

Yofi keeps an all-optional TOML config under XDG. A blacklist file beside it hides entries by desktop filename. Two cache files record usage per launch mode.

No system etc path is supported, which the docs call out explicitly. Alternate files in the same dir load through launch flags. History stats live only in those caches.

Where Yofi stores this, by platform

Linux
~/.config/yofi/yofi.config

All-optional TOML plus blacklist by desktop filename. Usage caches per mode beside it. No system etc path supported. Alternates load via flags in the same dir.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Yofi?

Copy the yofi config folder plus both cache files with the launcher closed. Blacklist and usage stats travel with them. Restoring means putting all of it back before launch.

How do blacklist and history work?

One .desktop filename per line in the blacklist file. Cache files track launch counts per mode. Clearing caches resets ranking without touching config.
